Federal Skilled Worker Class – Express Entry

Apply For Federal Skilled Worker Program

In this blog, we will discuss how one can immigrate to Canada under Federal Skilled Worker Class. Federal Skilled Worker Program can directly help you immigrate to Canada. Here are some of the questions people ask, can we immigrate to Canada without any family ties? Is it possible to immigrate to Canada on our own? Can we immigrate to Canada from anywhere in the world?

We will answer all of the questions above. The category we will discuss today through this blog is the Federal Skilled Worker Class Program. The beauty of this immigration category is that anyone with qualifying credentials can apply under this program. There are factors that you must meet under this program.

Below are the factors that must be met:
*Age
*Education
*Work experience
*Whether you have a valid job offer (Although a job offer is not required)
*English and/or French language skills
*Adaptability (how well you’re likely to settle here)

Each of the above factors give you points to qualify under the program. The points to qualify are set by the government of Canada and can be low or high sometimes. If the points decrease by the government, even the candidates with low points can be invited to apply for permanent residence. No one can predict whether the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking Score) to qualify will increase or decrease at any given time. Let me break down the factors above in the most simplistic way possible.

Age:

The younger the better. However, the highest points are given to your profile, if you are up to the age of 29. After the age of 29, your points slowly decrease.

Education:

The higher the better. The more educated you are, the higher the chances for you to qualify. Ideally, someone who has a master’s or even PHD can get good points for their profile.

Work Experience:

You must have at least one (1) year of experience to qualify under the FSW program. You must have worked one (1) year out of the last ten (10) years in one of the qualifying TEER (Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities).

Your job experience must fall under either TEER 0, 1, 2, 3. You can contact our office to figure out if your profession falls under the NOC requirements. The good part about the work experience requirement is, that it can also be part-time.

Job Offer:

You do not have to have a job offer from a Canadian employer. However, having a job offer gives you additional points to your profile. There are a lot of people who qualify without the job offer based on their overall credentials. Depending upon the TEER code and the job being offered, you either get 50 additional points or 200 points. Again, not having a job offer does not disqualify you from this program.

Language Requirements:

The language requirements are a must under Federal Skilled Worker Class Program. In fact, if you are not able to write either an English or French language exam, you cannot even qualify under the Federal Skilled Worker program. The qualifying language score is CLB 7. The CLB 7 is the minimum score to put your profile in the express entry pool of candidates. If you are able to score higher, it gets you even more points on your profile.

Adaptability:

Adaptability means how well you are likely to settle in Canada. What it essentially means is, whether you have a blood relative in Canada. You get 15 additional points if one of your blood relatives is a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen in Canada. A blood relative such as your siblings. Adaptability also means whether your overall profile economically and education-wise supports you in Canada or will at least help you adapt to Canadian society.

Please note that this program is not for people who are willing to settle in the province of Quebec. The province of Quebec has its own skilled based program.
