This is the only caregiver program in Canada, that allows to hire foreign nationals. Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for any of the above pilot programs, the candidate typically needs to meet the requirements below:

  • Have a valid job offer as from a Canadian employer. No LMIA is required in this category.
  • Meet language proficiency requirements of CLB 5 in English or NLCL 5 in French
  • You must have a completed post-secondary education credential of at least (one) 1 year.
  • You must have the ability to demonstrate that you are able to do the job being offered to you.

However, you can directly apply for permanent residence under this pathway program if you already have Canadian work experience of twelve (12) months inside Canada.

Work Experience:

You first will have to gain work experience of one (1) year in Canada on a work permit, before you can apply for permanent residence.

Your family can also accompany you to Canada while you work and gain Canadian work experience. Family members such as spouse/common-law partner, your dependent children can accompany you to Canada on temporary resident permits.

In conclusion, if you are planning to submit your application under this pathway program, you need to plan ahead. The quota for these applications is limited. Once the IRCC reaches the required cap, the program gets closed. This is an ideal program to get permanent residence in Canada since this pathway has easy requirement to meet the eligibility criteria.
