Ontario PNP Streams:

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee program (OINP) uses different intake streams to manage applications. Before you apply to the program, you must understand the stream system that puts your application through in the right direction. In order for you to be eligible for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program OINP, you must register in either the Express Entry System or Expression of Interest System to let the OINP know you wish to be invited to apply.

How Many Streams are there for OINP?

The OINP has 9 streams you may qualify for. You can use OINP’s Stream Selector Tool to identify which stream you may be eligible for based on your credentials. This tool is only for informational purposes and it is solely your responsibility to make sure that you meet all criteria for your particular stream before applying.

The nine (9) streams are divided into two categories. One (1) is Expression of Interest Stream and the other is Ontario’s Express Entry Stream.

List of Expression of Interest Streams:

If you have a job offer in Ontario, you can apply to the following streams:

  • Employer Job Offer – Foreign Worker Stream
  • Employer Job Offer – International Student Stream
  • Employer Job Offer – In-Demand Skills Stream

If you have a Masters or PhD degree from an Ontario university, you can apply to the following streams.

  • Masters Graduate stream
  • PhD Graduate stream

Ontario’s Express Entry Streams:

  • Human Capital Priorities Stream
  • Skilled Trades Stream
  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream

How to Receive an Invitation to Apply?

Under the ONIP’s Expression of Interest Streams, you must first register in the Express of Interest System and receive an invitation to apply. However, under the Ontario’s Express Entry streams you must first register in the Express Entry system and receive a notification of interest before applying.
