How to Confirm your presence in Canada using PR Confirmation Portal?

If you have received a request from the IRCC with regards to the IRCC Permanent Residence Confirmation Portal, it is your lucky day. This e-mail is a sigh of relief for you and is also an indication that your PR application process is almost complete.

The letter from the IRCC looks something like this:

Congratulations! at this point you are just one step away from getting your Confirmation of Permanent Residence in Canada.

The PR Confirmation Portal is now used by the IRCC for the following:

• To get your picture for your PR Card
• To confirm your current residential address
• To confirm that you are currently residing in Canada

Receiving Email and Process of Confirmation:

After receiving your confirmation portal email mentioned above, you will have to follow the instructions in the email to send certain details to the IRCC via e-mail. You need to respond to the IRCC’s email with the following:

• Provide your private email address that you want to use for your PR confirmation process
• If you have spouse/dependents on your application, you will have to mention if you will be acting on their behalf or not?
• Also, your personal details will be required such as Name, Email, UCI #, Date of Original Entry to Canada, Date of most recent entry to Canada, location of last entry to Canada such as airports, etc.

Here is a sample response to the email:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email. Below is the requested information to complete the PR confirmation process.

• Email Address I want to use: consult@effizient.ca
• I don’t have any spouse/partner or dependent children (If you do, please mention whether they will confirm independently)
• Here is my information:

            – Name : Ebaad Bhatti

            – UCI : 12345678

            – Email: contact@high5immigration.com

            – Original Entry Date: 01 December, 2020

            – Date of last time you entered Canada: 01 December, 2020

            – Location where you last entered : Toronto Pearson Airport

After sending this email, you will have to wait until you receive login ID and password for the PR confirmation portal. Sign in to this portal using your login ID and password : https://prson-srpel.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login

Now you can confirm your address in Canada, your presence in Canada, and upload your photo. Once complete, you will receive Electronic Confirmation of Permanent Residence (e-COPR). With this, you are done with the process and are now a Permanent Resident of Canada.

You receive your PR card in your mail within a few weeks!
